History
spaces focuses specifically on sustainability, preserving and modernising historic and industrial buildings and opening them up for new uses, such as events.
The old bricks hold a significant piece of Rhineland industrial history: a crane factory was built on the Rheinhöfe industrial site in Düsseldorf as early as 1906.
However, from the 1970s onwards, Düsseldorf developed into a service metropolis and crane construction in the Rheinhöfe was discontinued. In 2008, the site was extensively revitalised, with the dense development cleared to expose the attractive industrial architecture. This created an international logistics hotspot.
Companies from the creative industries, IT and consulting sectors, as well as educational institutions, have also settled there, creating a stimulating environment. The well-known motorcycle clothing manufacturer Hein Gericke delivers lifestyle to the whole world from the two halls. This spirit lives on: in 2018, Spaces Mgt GmbH took over the halls and converted them into an unusual and versatile event venue called THE FRAME. From now on, it’s ‘born to be wild’ again: experiences are etched into minds and hearts here.
