kesselhalle hamburg

Scene: KESSELHALLE. Hamburg. Hammerbrook.

Hamburg. Zoom in: Hammerbrook. Zoom in again: The former Bille power station – a listed industrial monument. Energy is vibrating once more. Zoom out: The entire Billebogen development area is gearing up for new adventures. Here on the Elbe, the 21st-century version of the historic Speicherstadt is taking shape – steeped in tradition and driven by innovation. A “National Urban Development Project” supported by the federal government.

Zoom in: At the heart of the power station is the former KESSELHALLE. A long, industrial building with typical 19th-century skylights, steel structures, and a gallery. Vast. Powerful. Yet delicate. Untamed – until now. We’re getting to work and can’t wait. Official opening: 2028.

Zoom in: The KESSELHALLE will offer 3,800 square meters of event space for up to 1,000 guests. 2,000 square meters of ground floor gross area. Zoom out: 1,200 square meters of gallery space provide the perfect overview. Pan: In the adjacent head building, three levels of multifunctional support spaces are being developed. Practical. Useful. Absolutely essential. Zoom in: perfect for smaller workshops or artist dressing rooms, for example.

Zoom out and scene change: The KESSELHALLE is just 10 minutes or one S-Bahn stop from Hamburg Central Station. A transfer to the CURIO-HAUS takes 20 minutes. There’s real potential here.

To be continued.
